Learn more about how you can respond to a child’s desire to communicate, the importance of checking in to discuss feelings and emotions, and fostering positive attitudes around gender.
Children need to feel confident about who they are, what they are interested in, and can miss out on important experiences when their play is limited by gender expectations. Talk with your child about gender equality from an early age, model positive attitudes and acceptance of gender differences, encourage respect and accept how they wish to identify. Gender is fluid in the early years, but gender stereotypes can last a lifetime.
